About the Neddy at Cornish Cornish College of the Arts prepares its students to contribute to society as artists, citizens and innovators. The Neddy at Cornish artist awards are a beacon of this mission. The Neddy at Cornish offers some of the largest artist awards in the State of Washington and this year we are providing an increased grand prize of $30,000 to two artists, and six awards of $2,000, to visual artists based in the Puget Sound region. Any artist who is a U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident living and working in Island, Jefferson, King, Kitsap, Mason, Pierce, Skagit, San Juan, Snohomish, Thurston, or Whatcom counties in Washington state is welcome to apply.  The 2020 Call for Applications is open from Tuesday, September 1st, 2020 until Sunday, October 25th at 11:59 p.m. PST.  Learn more at  https://www.cornish.edu/neddy_at_cornish/   See the application guidelines for more information on eligibility and award process.

Important Dates: 

To be eligible as a finalist for the award, applicants must meet the eligibility requirements, and be available for the following events: 

Studio Visit and Filmed Interview between mid-November and January 1st, 2021. 

Studio Visit with our National Juror, Amber Esseiva end of January 2021 - Early February 2021. 

Drop off, or installation of artwork at the Jacob Lawrence Gallery, end of February 2021. 

Pick up, or take down of work, end of March 2021.

We will take all appropriate procedures to maintain your health and safety. Due to these precautionary measures, some events may take new forms this year. We will work with each artist individually to determine the best way to support you during these events.
